Learning to weave had been on my life list for many years. Finally after retiring from academic librarianship and moving to Estes Park, CO, I was fortunate enough to become acquainted with Karen Crislip right away. She became my teacher and mentor. Although I have only done a few small pieces, I have had two in local Colorado juried shows. Tapestry is for me a wonderful art form to express my love of the mystery of astronomy and the beauty of the natural world.

My early art background was in drawing and painting. Weaving has been my art form for over thirty years, and about half of that time I have devoted to tapestry. The patterns on butterfly wings have been a source for abstract compositions in one body of my work. My current narrative series in a realistic style, explores male/ female relationships. I have found tapestry weaving to be compelling, frustrating and a rewarding medium to express the joys and trials of life. It has brought me into contact with many wonderful people.
I have taught weaving in Indiana and Florida, held offices in Fiber Artisans, Manasota Weavers Guild, and Tapestry Weavers South. I am a member of T.A.O.S. (Tapestry Artists Of Sarasota) and ATA. I live in Sarasota, Florida with my husband a retired professor of art.
Linda Wallace
My introduction to tapestry happened during my mid-life career changing BFA at the Alberta College of Art. While continuing to weave image based tapestries examining issues of female infertility, feminism, bioethics and biotechnology, I have begun to push boundaries with more experimental work. I belong to Tapestry Weavers of Vancouver Island, The Canadian Tapestry Network, Tapestry Weavers West as well as ATA. After more than 30 homes in such diverse places as the Canadian High Arctic, both sail and power boats, I now live where I grew up - on Vancouver Island, Canada, with my husband and partner of 30 years.

I have been a professional textile artist for over thirty years with an undergraduate degree in studio art and graduate degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in Fiber Art. I have balanced my time between teaching and studio work. My works consists of wall pieces in tapestry or weaver controlled techniques. I create work by commission and for exhibition. I am currently working on small scale tapestries which integrate traditional tapestry methods with loom beading.
I currently serve on the Boards of HGA, Tapestry Weavers South, and several state and local professional organizations.
