I view art as a language uniquely suited to serve us in ways a verbal language cannot. My art is a creative act to express my feelings, using such media of art as Gobelin Tapestry. I am trying to show my world using natural resources such a wool, cotton, and silk; by combining three dimensional forms and transforming them into a decorative or abstract image. I create a two dimensional composition, rich with color and the texture of hand woven textiles. A work of art should make the viewer think. It should not tell the viewer what to think, but should help that person to start thinking in a new way. By creating tapestry I am showing what I've seen and found interesting and beautiful.

Tea Okropiridze was born in Georgia (Eastern Europe). She started her art educating in 5th grade at fine art department of Tbilisi Art Lyceum (Georgia). In 1994 she received Degree in Sculpture at Tbilisi I. Nikoladze Arts College,(Georgia), and in 2002 Degree in art /Artistic Weaving (Gobelin - Tapestry)/, Department of Fine & Applied Art at State Institute of Culture, Tbilisi, Georgia.Since 1998 she has participated in national and international exhibitions in her native country Georgia, Europe (Germany, Spain etc.) and
USA. She is a winner of: Kara Art Silver Award (Geneva/Switzerland, and the Featured Artist Title of United Creative Union. Since 2000 she is a member of Caucasian Arts Managers Network, Since 2002 the Georgian Artists’ Union and Since 2005 American Tapestry Alliance. During 1994-2002 she was working as a artist/designer in L.T.D. “Vazisubani” and Stichting Caucasus Foundation /IBCCP/. Since 2003 she is living in United State, and working in Art Woodstone Studio LLC. with 3 other artists of different media (George Tkabladze, Erick and Mitchell Osman), and combining their talents to create beautiful, original visual art – both functional and non-functional.
