Sarah Warren's Statement

I am fascinated by the play of color caused by the changing seasons and weather patterns: designs carved by wind on snow and water, how sunset and sunrise illuminate the clouds, the soft glow of maple buds in the spring, and the way the mountains seem to disappear into the distance and blend with the clouds on a humid summer day. I am also influenced by the time I spend every year in the Southwest, backpacking in the canyons of Utah and Arizona, or in the wilderness of southern New Mexico.

Through my tapestries, I hope to share some of the peace and well-being I feel sitting on a mountain-top, gazing at the distant peaks and ridges and watching soaring kestrels at play on the thermals that rise from the valley below.
